Andrea Alfiler, Coach – has been an assistant at Tulane University, and San Diego State. She began her collegiate coaching career as an assistant at Point Loma Nazarene University. In one year at Point Loma, she helped the Sea Lions achieve their best season in school history with a 14-3-2 record and a No. 20 ranking in the final NAIA poll. After her time at Point Loma, Andrea held the unique position of player/coach with the semi-pro Rochester Reign of the Women’s Premier Soccer League. A three-time All-American during her playing days at Azusa Pacific University, she was named the NAIA National Player of the Year and the Golden State Athletic Conference Player of the Year in 2001. She was a three-time all-conference, all-regional selection and earned NAIA all-tournament honors in each of her final three seasons. She also helped lead Azusa Pacific to the national championship and a mark of 24-0-1 in 1998 while her 1999 and 2001 teams both appeared in the NAIA semifinals. After a stellar career at Azusa Pacific she graduated with honors in 2002 with a degree in physical education and then was a second-round draft pick by the WUSA’s Philadelphia Charge in 2002. She was then picked by the San Diego Spirit in 2003. |
