Coaching Philosophy

When coaching children I believe that it is important to start with teaching the children individual technical skills. Team systems are important, but they are only as good as the individual players in them. They cannot compensate for poor control or inaccurate passing and shooting.

I take a systematic approach when training the children. It begins with ball mastery then dribbling and turning, passing and receiving, shooting, and moves 1 v 1.  I believe that this approach gives the children the individual skills needed in order to be successful on the field with any team.

Once I feel the team as a whole is comfortable with their technical skills we will move on to tactical skills positions, defense, attacking principals, set plays etc.

During all the phases of training the players will be passing dribbling shooting, but depending on the subject and phase of training corrections and adjustments will only be made on the topic of that practice.

Wining is not important at this age level. I believe teaching technical skills and tactical skills are.

If I teach them properly winning will come along with it.
