John Collazos A native of Colombia, John Collazos has been playing soccer since the age of five. Growing up in the San Fernando Valley, John has played for several well?respected clubs, including S.F. Valley Golden Eagles. In 1996 the Eagles qualified to compete in the USISL 3-D Pro League. Playing under the guidance of Rildo Menzes (two time World Cup player of the Brazilian team, and 1970 World Cup champions), John was introduced to soccer and fitness training at the highest level. Although john spends Most of his time training youth players, he continues to play tournament soccer all over California. In 2007, John collaborated with several other experienced fathers to form a boys U11 team to compete in the Coast Soccer League. With the Collaboration of another Coach, their team finished the season with a 12-2 record, wining the league and securing the silver bracket for the following season. John has been coaching youth soccer for ten years.   John Strongly believes that youth players need to develop confidence with the ball. Once a player knows how to control a ball, their options become much broader. Since all youth players develop differently, the process needs to be slow and repetitive. Working through the mistakes is a coach’s biggest accomplishment. The joy of playing soccer is a coach’s best tool. A parent’s support of the youth is the coach’s best reward.
