Martin Carty, Coach – emigrated from Scotland in 1964, the same year AYSO was founded. He played in various ethnic Leagues in Los Angeles, and with the Santa Monica College Men’s program from 1973 – 75, Martin began his coaching career as Assistant Men’s Coach at Santa Monica AYSO from 1975 – 77, while continuously coaching club soccer starting in 1977 to present. He has also coached Loyola Marymount University Men’s Varsity Team to a S.C.L.S and a Division II Conference Championship from 1977 – 79. His coaching experience includes working at U.S.C. as Assistant Men’s Coach, 1980 – 81; Santa Monica High School Girls Varsity, 1982 – 84; Brentwood School Boy’s Varsity, 1985 – 91, and winning five consecutive Delphic League Championships.
