PCSC B98 Defends Copa Real Nike Invitational Championship

For the second year in a row the PCSC B98 team won the Copa Real Nike Invitational Championship in the U11 Top Flight. This was the team’s second consecutive tournament championship after winning the PSA Winter Cup the weekend of December 19 – 20, 2009. The team defeated the Eagles of the Central Coast League in a rain socked final that went through two five minute overtimes and ended in a PK victory for the boys. While this was a complete team effort there were some standout performances; Striker Reese Andrade scored five of the teams six goals and GK Daniel Aguilar allowed only one tournament goal, while also savings two PK’s during the finals.

Following up on their dominating Nike Harvest Cup Championship where they outscored their opponents 30 – 1, the PCSC Boys U10 team brought home the championship hardware again in the Copa Real Nike Invitational. The team defeated league rival Santa Barbara SC 3 -1 to earn its second tournament championship of the year.
